From the late 1800’s to 1964, Melton Constable was unique as a railway village. The railway construction and maintenance works closed in 1936 after the L.N.E.R. took control. The busy station and junction remained until the final Beeching closure. These reminiscences are from some of the people connected with the railway, who still remember those times.
