Our Y14 is Visiting The Spa Valley Railway
The Spa Valley Railway is delighted to announce the visit of Great Eastern Railway Class Y14 No. 564 courtesy of The Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway Society and North Norfolk Railway!
Arriving just in time for the Spa Valley's annual Real Ale & Cider Festival which runs from the 18th to 20th October and is supported by West Kent CAMRA, the 1912 built 0-6-0 tender locomotive will remain in Royal Tunbridge Wells until early January 2020.
The Y14 is scheduled to operate alongside the Spa Valley's Diesel Locomotives during the popular Beer Festival and also regularly throughout Santa Specials in December. The Edwardian engine will finish off its visit by taking part in the Spa Valley's 'Winter Steam Up!' event alongside another North Norfolk Railway resident, Hunslet No. 1982 'Ring Haw' which has been on hire since late 2018.
This is the first time in its guise as a Y14 that the locomotive has visited Kent (and Sussex) and the Spa Valley is extremely grateful to the M&GNJR Society for making the visit possible.
