The two new cylinder blocks required for Ring Haw have been successfully cast. Keith Ashford, NNR & Society CME has received confirmation from Premier Patterns who have been contracted by the Flour Mill for the procurement of the two cylinder block castings for Ring Haw, that the second attempt to cast the second half of the cylinder block has been successful.
We previously reported that two new cylinder blocks would be required as part of the 10 year overhaul and restoration of Ring Haw. This work is being undertaken at the Flour Mill engineering works, Gloucester.
The two blocks will now need to be stress relieved before moving into the machine shop at the Flour Mill.

Further news on the progress of restoration will appear on this site and on the Facebook page of the M and GN Society Loco Club,
